What are EN10253-2, Series 1 butt weld fittings?
We now offer butt weld fittings according to EN10253-2, Series 1 – known for having the thinnest wall thickness within this standard. These fittings are specifically designed to match pipes with corresponding wall thicknesses precisely, eliminating the need for additional machining of the welding ends. This makes installation faster and more cost-effective.
Series 1 fittings also offer significant advantages such as reduced material usage and lower weight, which not only simplifies handling but also helps lower the overall CO₂ footprint.
Comparison with Series 2 butt weld fittings
Series 2 fittings under EN10253-2 differ from Series 1 by having a thicker wall, making them more suitable for applications requiring higher pressure resistance.
While Series 2 fittings provide higher structural strength, Series 1 is the ideal solution when weight reduction and material savings are the priority – typically in district heating systems and other low-pressure installations.
Another benefit: Series 1 fittings do not require post-processing, which is often necessary for thicker fittings. This saves both time and resources.
